Twinsky Seafood Restaurant @ 双天

Location: Seri Selera Kampung Air (formerly known as SEDCO Square), Kota Kinabalu
Tel: +60 88 210 400
Operating Hours: 3pm - 2am

Have been here to the same restaurant few years back, and recommended by my friend during this visit as well. We decided give it a try again as this restaurant is nearest to our hotel and easiest to find. Just tell the cab driver SEDCO Square, and you will reach to the destination safely. If you are adventorous enough, the location just about 5 minutes stroll from Wawasan Square.

Inside here, it is semi open-air seating. There are few other seafood restaurants located in the same complex, which means the pricing is quite competitive over here. However, bear in mind that this place also is tourist spot. You may find more information from:

Twinsky Seafood offers live seafood for their patrons. One may choose the seafood from a vast selection available, and just tell the waiter how you would like the seafood to be served on your table. Of course, Sabah is well known for her exotic seafood, and this prompt us to try some of the seafood that we hardly get in Peninsular Malaysia.

1. Steamed "7 Sing Pan" (7 Star Grouper @ Coral Trout @ Leopard Coral Grouper) @ 七星斑
As our mission here is to try out exotic seafood, we just forgo the price of the fish for this time. We ordered it to be steamed as this will let us taste the freshness of the fish. True enough, the meat was so tender and fresh. This really make our day, after the tiredness since came down from Mt Kinabalu.

2. Steamed Fried Mantis Prawn
The waiter recommended us to have the mantis prawn prepared in such a way and we just follow it blindly. However, it didn't disappoint us. True enough, we should just listen to the expert advise here. Haha... The meat is tender and together with the egg available, it is so juicy when you bite it.

3. Steamed Snail
Another exotic seafood we ordered, this round was a type of 'snail'. Just steam the snail, and it is ready to be served. It is kind like appetizer for us.

4. Fried Oyster
Though we can easily find this dish in Peninsular, we still ordered it. Simply because that the oyster here looks bigger and tastier. Why? Mainly because it is fresh enough and doesn't mix much with flour.

5. Spicy Stir Fried Elephant Trunk Clamp @ Geoduck a.k.a. 大象拔蚌
This was cooked spicy flavor as our other dishes were either steam or fried. We didn't order much for this, as there were only 4 of us to finish all the dishes. Again, this dish doesn't fail us.

One our way out, we saw huge cockles in the display, ready to be served. The cockles as huge as a lady fist, probably bigger than the size of 50 cents available today. Never thought we can find such a huge cockles here.
