One of the objective we embarked on the east coast journey was to try out the famous "keropok lekor". This is easily found in Terengganu state. We found this stall on the roadside while on the way from Kelantan to Terengganu. There are lot of customers queuing to buy the keropok, thus attract our attention to make a stop to try this out.
From the information we gathered from the hotel we stayed across the road, this stall is the pioneer, or first of its kind to setup the stall to sell the keropok in mass. Since the business running smoothly, this has inspired other stall to be setup along the coastal road, and make this place famous for the keropok lekor.
Keropok is made of fish meat mixed with sagu and salt. One will roll it to before being thrown to the big bowl of hot water. Once the keropok floating on the wok, this mean the keropok is safe to eat.
The keropok lekor found here is different from what we usually have in KL. The one that we had in KL usually is crispy because it is fried. However, over here the keropok lekor is boiled and can be eaten just like that.
Besides the keropok, this stall also selling other sea product such as salty fish.
